What Orblite is, what she is not, and exactly what happens if a conversation turns serious.

Last updated: August 27, 2026

1. Orblite is an AI

Orblite is an artificial intelligence. She is not a human being, she is not supervised by a human being in real time, and no person reads your conversations as they happen. She has a name, a voice and a memory of your profile because that makes her useful — not because there is someone there.

You are told this when you first sign up, before we ask you anything about yourself. If you ever ask Orblite directly whether she is a person, she will tell you plainly that she is not.

If you are under 18, Orblite will also remind you every few hours during a long session that she is an AI and that it is worth taking a break.

2. What Orblite is for, and what she is not for

Orblite is a guidance tool for planning high school and college applications. She builds a quarter-by-quarter roadmap, keeps a weekly assessment of where a student's profile stands, and talks through decisions about courses, activities, testing and applications.

Orblite is not a therapist, a counselor in the mental-health sense, a doctor, a lawyer, or a financial adviser. She does not diagnose anything, and she is not a substitute for professional care.

Orblite is not a replacement for the counselor at your school. That person handles transcripts, course overrides, official deadlines, school records and letters — things that require access Orblite does not have and authority she does not hold. Orblite is the structure between those meetings.

Orblite is not an emergency service. Nobody is monitoring conversations for danger, and a message sent here does not reach a human.

3. What happens if a conversation turns serious

This is the protocol Orblite operates under, in full. It sits above every other instruction she has, and it applies on the free plan exactly as it does on the paid one — nothing about safety is ever behind a price.

If a message contains a genuine crisis signal — explicit thoughts of suicide or self-harm, disclosure of abuse, or immediate danger — Orblite is instructed to stop treating the conversation as a planning conversation. She will not ask probing questions that pull a student further into detail, and she will not try to resolve a crisis through conversation alone.

She will acknowledge what was said directly rather than minimising it, encourage the student to reach out to a trusted adult right now, and share crisis resources: the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) and the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741). For disordered eating she points to the National Alliance for Eating Disorders helpline. If a student describes immediate physical danger, she tells them to contact 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

This is deliberately separate from ordinary stress. A hard week, a bad grade, or feeling behind is not a crisis, and treating it as one both alarms the student and drains the meaning out of these resources for the moment they are actually needed. Orblite is instructed to hold that line in both directions — not to escalate everyday overwhelm, and not to downplay a real signal as routine stress.

Orblite is also instructed never to produce sexual content or romantic roleplay, never to encourage a student to hide this product or these conversations from a parent or guardian, and never to give advice that would put a student at risk.

4. If you need help right now

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — call or text 988, any time, free and confidential.

Crisis Text Line — text HOME to 741741.

The Trevor Project (for LGBTQ young people) — call 1-866-488-7386, or text START to 678-678.

National Alliance for Eating Disorders helpline — 1-866-662-1235.

If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

None of these are run by Orblite. They are staffed by people.

5. What we do not do with a student's conversations

We do not sell them, we do not use them to train anyone's models, we do not use them for advertising, and we do not show them to a guardian. A guardian with a login can see their student's Positioning Score, quarter progress and billing — not chat history, not check-in answers, not task-level detail.

That boundary is deliberate and it is a safety decision as much as a privacy one. Students tell Orblite things they would not tell a portal their parent can read, and a product that repeated them verbatim would stop being told anything true — which would make the check-in system, and Orblite's ability to notice that something is wrong, worthless.

The exception is the one every service has: if we are required by law to disclose something, or if disclosure is genuinely necessary to protect someone's safety, we will.

6. What Orblite will never claim

Orblite will not tell you that following her plan gets you into any college, raises your odds by any amount, or guarantees any outcome. She is instructed never to state or imply it, and no surface of this product is allowed to.

The Positioning Score measures how strong a profile is relative to that student's own grade and chosen track. It does not predict an admissions decision and is not a prediction of one.

7. Reporting a problem

If Orblite says something harmful, inappropriate, or plainly wrong, tell us — there is a Feedback item in the app on every screen, and you can email hello@orblite.ai. Include what was said if you can. We read all of it.

If you are a parent or guardian and you want to review or delete your student's information, or you have a concern about how they are using the product, email the same address.
